Every document uploaded, every highlight made, every flashcard generated, is associated with a **notebook**. All cards for a notebook will eventually get exported as a single deck. The [Inbox](/workflow/inbox) is just a collection of all your notebooks, and displays each notebook's highlights and flashcards for you for quick review, editing, and exporting. ## Viewing your Notebook If you prefer to read the text, highlight as you go, and make flashcards with specific instructions on a per highlight basis, you can open the notebook to see the Notebook View. This displays the [Document Reader](/workflow/notebook/document-reader) on one side, and the [Generate](/workflow/notebook/generate) and [Highlights](/workflow/notebook/highlights) tabs on the other.
